I'd forgotten about the built-in recorder. And it's just the thing! But I used Audacity to clip, stretch, and make level adjustments to the sound files first.

Re: Need a .wav recorder for XTS voice announcements

I've tried that, and it's great, but the files are FAR too high quality. What do you use to downconvert them to the 8K spec required for the conversion in the radio? As per the help in the CPS: Wav files MUST BE less than or equal to 58 Kilobytes (in size) and saved as 8.0 kHz and 16 Bit Mono, and f...

I do not currently have any program installed on my computer that will downcovert high quality audio formats to the 8K mono .wav format that is needed by an XTS5000 with the voice announcement option. Re: Can SmartZone IMBE be monitored via P25 conventional?

I've done everything and it's apparent to me that the problem has to be in the RX alignments of the 7100IP radio in digital mode, because the info is correct. Setting the XTS5K to TX on the same channels it's scanning successfully, in P25 IMBE mode, the 7100 hears SOME but not ALL of those channels ...

Re: Can SmartZone IMBE be monitored via P25 conventional?

It would seem to me, then, that a logical change to the CPS would be to eliminate message and transmission
trunking types from the list of available selections when SmartZone is selected. PTT-ID should be forced on.

You may have an issue with one or both radios being out of alignment. They don't have to be out by much for encryption and digital modes to fail to communicate.

Get the radios fully aligned if at all possible.
