An INHIBITED radio can be restored by reading it and reprogramming it, that simple, souds as though his display may be bad or maybe the flex for the front is possibly bad, I would look at either of those before I shipped it back to Mother M.

Sometimes you can fix the display with a hot air gun by going over the contacts where they are soldered on the board, past that, buy a hot air bonder or stock up on front displays. SG

A new display is 20 something dollars and a driver chip is around $8, or you can hop on ebay and buy someone else's junk "untested" spectra head. You could also just buy a new display board for $128, but your best bet is to try anotherhead to confirm your problems go away, since nothing in the radio...

It's either the display or the driver for the display, I would swap the driver first, you will need a Chipmaster to do that or just be real good with a hot air bonder. SG
