It will certainly need aligned after that change. If you can read/write the radio, the you could access it with CPS tuner, but you need a service monitor to do the alignment.

Even if you cloned a code plug into the radio, not all the features will go over, i.e., a button or a switch is enabled, or, the talkgroup or channel is strapped to tx inhibit.

it has a button or switch programmed for transmit inhibit, and it is apparently enabled or strapped to those channels/talkgroups.

Depending on what the radio was last written/programmed with, you may be able to uninhibit it yourself with regular rss/cps, the early stuff would allow you to uninhibit with just a read/write operation.

You can contact Heartland with your model & serial #'s, they can tell you where your at warranty wise. I would certainly try a reload of the image disc that came with the unit first.

The ones I saw installed on Expeditions at Police Fleet Expo were set to replace the cross bars, then the wiring was run internally through the mounting feet of the luggage rack, then straight down through the roof, no wires visable at all.

And yes, as per M, refresh on any XTL or XTS that is less than 8.00.00 needs to be done in steps. First bump to 8.00.01, and the second to your choice of newer FW, 15.00 is the latest IIRC.

They'll probably read/write just fine, I don't believe I would try to flash update one with the adapter though.

I remember in one of the rebanding primer sessions they touched on this, our shop just ordered CF-30's, problem solved.

Top node drag and drop would get it in there.

Or blow the "S" record in, radio will need re aligned(or copy your current alighnment parameters, and change them back after the "S" record swap ), but it will do the 110 watt with the "S" record from the 25 watt unit.

You will not be able to use the CGAI USB programming cable with that setup. You will need to switch to Serial CGAI, or utilise the rear accessory connector Serial/USB programming/data cable. Well isn't that nice... No way around that? It was nice to just have one programming cable that was convient...
