Does Refrigeration Prolong Shelf Life [of batteries]?

If I store 2-way radio batteries in the fridge, will they hold their charge longer ? Will it cause any damage to the battery chemistry ?

But what about the other hams ? Let's say you have a round-table or rag-chew deal happeneing, and you've got 3-4 hams on a talk group chatting away.

Wouldn't they each have to stop and ID on each frequency every 10 minutes ?

So you would have to keep track of what frequencies your conversation has used within each 10 minute period. Then you have to go and ID on each of those frequencies ?

I have a 90 watt power inverter which seems to work fine on electronic items such as a police scanner. It doesn't work on a construction-style work lamp though. Since the lamp is only using a 60 watt bulb, shouldn't it work ?
