Good info, thanks. I would assume the lower split antenna would be the longest; the 6.5 inch as opposed to the 6.0 inch. Could be a mis-mark like you said.

Yes, there is a stud to BNC adapter that will fit the MT1000, because I have one. It isn't from Motorola; I found it on eBay. Can't remember exactly, but it came from a seller that sells all kinds of RF connectors and adapters.

Is this why you never see a 16 channel low band MT1000? They're usually 6 channel or 99 channel; I have never seen a 16 channel low band, nor have I seen a 6 channel high or UHF band.

Yes, the HT1250 is available in VHF low band in two overlapping splits; 29.7 to 40, or 35 to 50 Mhz. I believe I have read that they cannot go up into the six meter band.

I'm looking for the Motorola part number for the UHF whip antenna that is normally used on the MT1000 (MX connector). I have Googled the hell out of this, and can only find the loaded helical stubby types. (For some reason, Google thinks MT1000 and HT1000 are the same thing!)

On page 22 of the .pdf version of the XTS2500 Model III User's Guide, there's a part they refer to as a "Remote Speaker Microphone Adapter". What is the Motorola part number for this part? Neither of my '2500's have it, and I can attach a speaker mic without it; so what's it for?

I just made up a codeplug with some 42MHz and 50-54 MHz frequencies but as my earlier post mentions I don't have a high split radio to work with. All I have is a mid split that was converted to 10 FM but I won't go into the 10 meter radio now as that's info for another article when I find the time....

Tom, i've been doing just that here in my shop to no avail. I've been trying to avoid what you mentioned, but it would likely work. Jay, if it isn't too late, try 10-32 machine screws, 3/4 inch long. This is what I used, and they were the closest thing I could find. I just hope they aren't metric!

I'll have to look into that, Tom. I never heard of that item before. I was thinking maybe the Impres batteries I have are not high enough capacity to work well with the UHF models, maybe an upgraded Impres battery might yield better results? Meanwhile, if anyone can pinpoint the radio wide setting.....

Well, I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but yes, you can certainly program F7E as an NAC code. Hartley, so if I change the squelch setting to "Digital CSQ" it will then receive any P25 transmission regardless of what NAC code is present? At that point is won't matter what appears in the "Network ID, TX and RX" boxes?

Okay, so the NAC code F7E is indeed a "hear all" code, but the XTS3000 doesn't support it that way. I guess I will have to determine the codes using my PSR-500 scanner.
