XTS Model 3 Housing

Post by DoninIA »

Hello all,
My first post on the Batboard.

Can anyone tell me, has the supply of XTS3000 black model 3 housings dried up?

I just got into the XTS3000 platform.
My first radio, a UHF, has a less than perfect case.
I rate it about a 7.5 out of 10. On a good note, the LCD is perfect.
I did find a source for new knobs and inserts but I am having a hard time finding a model 3 housing.
There are some yellow ones available on Ebay, but I think I would have a hard time warming up to a yellow portable.

Thanks for any input,

Do you have an AN or BN radio? The Part number for the housing kit is different for each.

The housing itself (the piece of plastic - no electronics, you would have to transfer the ones in the current housing to the new one, and I also don't think this comes with the "Motorola XTS3000" sticker) is part number 1585506D07 which is showing available direct from Motorola, list price of $88.
The bandsplit is only a suggestion.

Thanks Bezking, I have not taken the case off yet to see which model I have.
I wasn't sure if it was worth taking apart if there where no cases available.

If I just replace the housing does it make a difference which model number I have?
Since I'm replacing all the electronics.

Thanks!

If you only replace the plastic and transfer your electronics it does not matter which model you have, If you are wanting to replace the electronics then you need to know if its an AN or a BN.
