spkr mic wiring HELP

I have a 2 pin motorola portable radio. its a cp something or other.. i have the standard mic that was issued to me (PMMN4013A) i have another mic (PMMN4050A) that is larger i want to put on my fire radio (CP). I know the cords dont have the same connections on the inside, but i took the 4013 cord and attatched the only connector to the 4050 mic (The only slot it fit in) I can get audio on recieve but it dont transmitt.

How can i make this work?? Preferably without buying anything else. I also have ht1250... can the 4050 be converted to work with this easier if so how,,, any helps appreciated,,, sorry if this dont make sense i can try to explain better.... thanks
