W7 Control Head Motorcycle Part ID

Post by RESCUE161 »

I am trying to locate the part number for the motorcycle W7 control head. It's the one that does not have the front mic port. So far I have come up with two part numbers.

0180049S10 - HSNG CNTRL HD FNT W7 MOT
0180049S14 - HSNG ASSY W7 MOTO BLACK

Can anyone let me know what the difference is between these two part numbers?

Just a guess, but the newer heads that came with the XTL's were black, not the purple/brown as in the past.

Looking through the service manuals,

0180049S10 - HSNG CNTRL HD FNT W7 MOT
Is the shadow plum color classic Astro spectra head

0180049S14 - HSNG ASSY W7 MOTO BLACK
Is the black version from the XTL / AS+ / Late production Astro Spectra

Most of the shadow plum control head plastics are NLA, and sub to the black versions, but I guess the motorcycle plastic was not that popular, and stock was not depleted.

I called Parts ID today, but they could not say with certainty if the above listed part numbers mic ports are sealed or not. I am ready to order two of these on MOL, but want to make sure the W7 Motorcycle versions mic port is sealed. I had one years ago, but I sold it.
