Board member Kotaguchi "KO"

Post by Mfire39 »

I just received information that board member Kotaguchi "KO" passed away last month. He was a well respected member of the radio community, and our forum. He will be missed.

Stupidity creates job security!

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

Very sad to hear, I had many dealings with him, a very stand up member, he will be missed.
Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

While I had no personal dealings with KO I was well aware of his status in the radio community and he is well respected. A deep loss for the community and everyone that knew him. Rest in peace KO.

Always sad when a board member passes. Kotaguchi was an active & knowledgeable member who will be missed. Making the post a sticky for a while.

I got word last Thursday when I spoke with his girlfriend on the phone. His health had been in decline for months and he had renal failure twice and was in the ICU twice. His diabetes was very bad on him and it took it's toll. I advised the board and the community because we all cared for Ko. Anyone who dealt with him knew him as a kind and giving person. If you have been unable to reach him, this is why. He passed away on October 20th at 5:00p.m. He was a dear friend and a mentor and he will be missed. Rest in peace Ko. You will not be forgotten.

Kind Regards,

Dan

That's what we had talked about after his first ICU stay.. He said he was feeling better but not quite out of the woods yet...

Really sorry to hear about this, as I had dealings with him several times. Kinda hard to take considering he was still pretty young.

Crap, been away for a few weeks, and come back to this....very sorry to learn of Ko's passing. He sold me my first XTS5K, then the accessories, then very patiently & graciously answered a few 'dumb' questions afterwards. I can't think of a single bad thing to say about him, he was very professional and very fair to deal with.
RIP my friend......

Another good person taken long before his time!
My sincerest condolences to his entire family and friends, here, and his personal family.
I will say his passing will be missed by anybody his life has touched.
Rest in peace Ko!

Sorry to hear about this.

I remember when the great Monty passed 10+ years ago now... MSisco9939 I think. A big loss for the /\/\ community.... sounds like this gentleman was as well.

RIP
