Anyone hear of this?

Post by dawson75 »

"received a notice from Motorola that some APX portables, manufactured
between August and September of 2013, have been recalled for repair. They found an
issue where some portables may power off on their own, even with the knob in the “on”
position. They may not be able to power back on. We have about 58 of them in our
inventory. Staley’s notified me yesterday that Motorola wants them sent in for a board
replacement. So, we are in the process now of gathering all of the ones to be sent in for
repair"

FSB NUMBER: FSB10894

MODEL / SYSTEM AFFECTED:
APX portable radios manufactured from July 2013 to June 2014 may be affected. To date, the behavior has only been observed with APX 6000 and APX 6000 XE radios. Work is ongoing to confirm the affected date range and radio models.

There's a revised FSB: FSB10894A that has an updated date range of the suspect radios.

APX 6000 and APX 6000 XE portable radios manufactured from August 2013 to September 2013 with certain component lots may be affected by this potential issue.
