Round knobs, only see them on LAPD AS.
Got it from a friend. It's analog only. I want to get it updated to do IMBE P25, Soft ID etc. Any sure way to figure out if the vocon is a 1 Meg w/o dismantle? Service yields nothing due to age of firmware AP_R03
Now if it is NOT a 1 Meg can it still be flashed to the last firmware and do p25 etc? It's VHF trunking is not needed.

- What radios do you own?: APX XTS XTL TRBO 900MHZ
Re: My ASTRO saber
With FW that old, it's probably a 512k radio. There are a few versions of FW that will allow IMBE, but not the newest. Over the years I've gotten a few AS that had the round knobs. They were Fed radios when they were new. GARY
Re: My ASTRO saber
I have a 800mhz AS with a 1 Meg.
Should I swap vocons? Does that mean the radio needs a realignment along with new flash etc?
This radio IS Double MINT and pushing 6.1w on high.

Re: My ASTRO saber
Radio is indeed a 512k, just verified by dismantle.
Well this sucks. 2 super clean badass radios and the one with the beast vocon and flash is the wrong @#&!band

6.1 watts out of a UHF radio? You looking to blow up your PA?
Re: My ASTRO saber
VHF it's how it came. I did not tune it. I'll have to grab a meter and turn down the high setting.escomm wrote:6.1 watts out of a UHF radio? You looking to blow up your PA?
