CDM1250 - any way to get more than 64 channels

Post by g8tzl2004 »

Has anybody managed to get more than 64 channels with a CDM1250.

Can the CPS be hex edited to enable more channels?

Thanks

read this page over, even though this is for the ht1250 handheld, it applies to cdm mobiles also.

Determining what codeplug tool groups, 2.x or 3.x, will be obvious once you compare the various s records that are available in the subdirectory of each codeplug tool used.

Also read this thread above, you can jump to the very last post if you are in a hurry but I suggest reading things thoroughly first.

Thanks mike m - I will read the threads.

Anybody actually done the extra channels mod on a VHF CDM1250? Any issues?

Thanks

Thanks

Is your 220 MHz mobile a CDM1550..which has 160 channels with no mods.

As my CDM1250 is only designed for 64 channels, will this have any implications re memory space? Or are all CDM main boards identical and its just firmware differences which determine the number of channels. So you could mod a 4 channel no display radio to 255 channels as long as you change the head?

MINE IS A HT1250-LS+, 216-222 HT that i modified but everything with regards to s-records for the ht's applies to mobiles of any band.

My ht was a ltr trunking 216-222 MHZ model with only 18 conventional channels before the s-record mods.

The cdm mobile was s-rec modified by someone else when I received it but looking at the supplied s-record file for the mobile it has the same s-record changes that I performed to my ht1250 ht.

I never had a cdm750 to try out but I may pick up another cdm1550-LS+, 216-222 mobile,to try my hand at moving to the 222-225 band for a mobile to go along with my present cdm1550-LS+, 220 mobile that the original owner modified prior to selling to me.

Thanks mike m.

I noticed that VHF CDM1250's are being sold on Fleabay with 250 channels rather than 64 channels and use a specially modified codeplug.

I guess VHF vs 220MHz codeplugs are easier to mod as there is no need to hex edit the band limits..all you need to do is change the number of channels.
