MTX-8250

Post by yardbirdjr »

Hello

I have a Motorola MTX-8250 Low Band Portable.

I was wanting to see if there is anyone out there that can give me a list of shops that can repair it and a price.

It will not power on.

I have changed batteries and nothing.

I have a feeling that the internal fuse has blown

Looking to get this portable back up and going.

I was looking at maybe programming it up for my trip to Pennsylvania

Please advise

Thanks

What radios do you own?: Motorola FR50!

MTX8250’s are 800mhz. Do you have a low band HT1250 in an MTX8250 case?

A lot can be wrong with these things. I have not seen a fuse blow on one but I have seen them get stuck in bootstrap mode after being tampered with with the unmentionable software.

+1 to NSPD. I have owned many MTX8250 and 9250 radios and the 8250 is 800MHz. Your HT1250 was recased (the cases are the same - the labels are different).

The fuse is "F1" and the location is shown in the DSM. Replacements are not easy to locate.
