Systems Saber H43TUK5170CN??

Post by g8tzl2004 »

I have recently acquired a VHF Systems Saber H43TUK5170CN

I've checked out Batlabs and the model number does NOT appear to be a version as listed on Batlabs.

There are a few mentions on the internet but not much.

Does anybody know whats special about a H43TUK5170CN

I'm guessing that its a 25KHz rather than a 12.5KHz radio?

Thanks

I now remember that there is both a Saber and Systems Saber!!...2 different radios :)

Anybody know if its easy to program a VHF Systems Saber down to 145.000 MHz?

My standard Sabers program down to 145MHz no problem.

I've checked out the VHF Systems Saber and its TX/Rxing on 147MHz on every channel!! I read somewhere that you can only program the Sytems Saber +/- 1MHz out of band...which might fit assuming the official band edge is 148 MHz...so maybe the previous owner tried to program the radio below 148 MHz but could only get to 147 MHz?

The other Systems Saber at switch on comes up with "GENERIC... 06 01 08... LCD TEST and KEY TEST".

Tke key test seems to be working ie when you change channel it displays the relevant channel. When you press key 1 it displays "Key 1"....but I can't get the radio to boot up into "non-test" mode. Anybody know how?

Thanks
