Maratrac Programming

Post by Art »

I have a UHF and a Lo-Band Maratrac that I would like to get to program
in the ham freq's. The UHF is 450 to 470 and the lo-band is 36 to 42.

I have tried the shift method and all I get is invalid entry. I have tried
this on legal RSS using a Motorola RIB and a IBM 286 computer with
only DOS installed on the hard drive. The radios program perfectly
in their respective bands.

I have been told that certain files in the RSS can be modified by using
Hex Editor programs but as I am ignorant in the ways of doing that.

I was wondering if I provided the original files that need to be changed,
would someone edit them and send them back to me?

Or if someone already has the modified files could they send them to me?

I like these radios and would like to be able to use them as they are
more powerful than any Ham mobile that I can buy.

Any response to this would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello Art:

If you go to the Batlabs Section and read up on the
Maratrac, all the information is listed there !

If that is beyond your scope, you might email
me direct @ msisco9939@aol.com and perhaps
I might be able to help

The UHF radio will work reasonably well on 440. You will need a hex edited . mdf to be able to program it there.

The 36 to 42 radio will not work on six meters, 50-52mhz.
You will have to change the radio out for a 42 to 50 range radio and then there is some mods needed to get up in the six meter band.

I do not want to convert the radio to six meters, I only want to be
able to program 43 and 44 mhz in a radio that has a 36 to 42 mhz
spread.

I've been wanting to do the same thing with my UHF for 70cm ham. I would like to know where these files are and a guide how to edit them.

Ok, the receiver in the low band 36-42 will go a few "north" to enable use at 43 and possibly 44 without too much trouble.

In order to program the frequencies into the radio you have to hex edit a file, the instructions are on BatLabs in the Maratrac section.
