Spectra power-up?

Post by NO6E »

Hi, Gang:

I recently re-installed a UHF Spectra. I seem to remember that
it used to come on with the ignition. Now, though, it powers
up "off". You gotta push the PWR button to turn it on.

Do I just remember wrong, or is there a way around this. Many of
my users are not clever enough to deal with a PWR button!

Many Thanks,

The big read power lead with the 15 amp fuse has to go direct to the battery. The small red lead with the three amp fuse going into the 15 pin plug, goes to the IGN switched 12 volts.

What radios do you own?: more than I should...

wiring

As Will pointed out, if the radio is wired correctly, it will power up "on" if left in an "on" state. If both leads are wired to ign, then the radio will always power up in an "off" state, regardless of the state it was left in.
