Post by Charlied »

Does anyone have directions on how to take an old Saber I mic cable and make a programming cable?

I believe the pinout diagram is on http://www.Batlabs.com under Model Specific Information, Saber I-II-III.

Have you looked at the main Batlabs site for the pin-out?

FYI, the pins on the speaker-mic do not mirror the programming cable. In other words, you're going to have to "modify" the speaker-mic connector as the speaker-mic doesn't include the required connectors that the programming cable requires.

You'd be better off using a Hi-Rose adapter as you can pick them up pretty cheap and they have all of the necessary connectors.

You can make it, but you'll have to be creative.

I made my Saber programming cable from a keyloader cable. It works for both programming and keyloading. Note that all the
pins are installed on the factory kvl connector, making if handy for all Saber projects.

It can be done. Just strip all of the smt components from the pcb inside
the connector. Then move the necessary pins. Then wire as needed.
Wire the other end to the necessary db connector to mate to the rib,
and you have a programming cable. Phrawg

Some of the pins are "right-Handed" while others are "Left-Handed". The regular speaker mic doesn't have all of the propper connectors no matter if you shuffle them around (been there / done that).

Using a key-load cable as well as using the Hi-Rose adapter is the best choice IMHO.
