Sabers - 403 vs 440 - how can one tell?

Post by loki71 »

I have someone selling a rack of Sabers, they have given me the facotry ID - which starts with H44...

so, they are uhf - - but how can i tell (without RSS) what part of the UHF split they are? is there something I can ask this person to look at or do? they are saber 1's, so no keyboard access, and this vendor may not know what they are doing and doesnt have RSS (estate sale)...

ideas?

The only way to tell is to read the radio using RSS, or take the radio apart and look for part numbers or freq info.

if its on e-pay , just go back threw his feedback for more of the same and e-mail one of the previous buyers and find out what split they got !

A freq counter would be very effective here. GARY N4KVE

Saber band split.....403-433.

Post by AEC »

If you bought a greedbay Saber, chances are you have what's commonly referred to as the 'Government Split' model, which is the 403-433 Mhz. range.

1. Synthesizer: NLE9461x...403-433 Mhz.

2. Rcvr module: NLE9431x..403-433 Mhz.(actually wider bandwidth than shown)

3. Filter/Detector/Switch: NFE6061x...403-436 Mhz.

4. R.F PA: NLE9471A..403-436 Mhz.

That's it, aside from the Reference Oscillator module: 16.8 Mhz.

It's pretty much the same as every other Saber radio, simply swap modules and realign.
