SPECTRA CONSOLETTE QUESTION?

Post by mfdeng5 »

How do you change the tone remote tone assignemts for the consolette.

For some reason when keying the comtegra, the spectra TX's on mode 3.

Thanks, Rob

P.S. The tone remote is built-in the consolette.

You dont!

What was M thinking? Who knows.

The assignments are built into the firmware. In other words specific function tones direct the Spectra to a particular mode. i.e. 1950 = mode 1, 1850 = mode 2, etc.

You will have to look for the solution at the Comtegra end.

You can reprogram the tone assignments in a lowly Desktrac but not in a high end Spectra Desktop [or Astro Desktop or even an XTL consollette]
There was an factory order optional "Centracom" firmware that had different assignments than the standard ship firmware to better match the console tone assignments.

That helped some back in the day when changing the tone assignments in the console was a PIA, however, the Gold series CDM has made that issue go away now that you can easily remap the console's function tones.
