mt1500 fuse location?

Post by nh7cy »

anybody know where the surface mount fuse is located on an mt1500?

should be the same as a pr1500, and the xts1500 as they use the same boards.

i picked one up for pretty cheap off of ebay because it had been run over by.. well something big. so the radio doesnt turn on, obviously, and upon inspection of the controller board everything looks fine, so i figured i might as well pull out my multimeter and test all of the surface mount components starting with the fuse.

just that i cant find it.

if anybody knows where its located and what it looks like then please let me know.

thanks!

The fuse is located on the front of the housing, the same piece of plastic with the speaker attached. Follow the battery contacts to a green colored 'bead', this would be the fuse.

are you sure this is for an mt1500 and not an mt1000?

the plastic housing for the mt1500 doesnt really have anything on it except for the ribbon cable.

i think i saw your post looking for the fuse location on an xts2500 which i believe has a similar layout to that of the mt1500, pr1500 and xts1500.

you wouldnt happen to have any pictures lying around of that fuse would you?

Here's an image showing the location of the fuse on a XTS2500:

No, I misread the title... I thought you put MT500, not 1500.

not sure what band, when i got it, it was pretty damaged and the tags were unreadable. only way to find out would be to get the radio fixed and read the bandsplit in cps.

hmm appearantly the fuse location is different on an mt1500, most of that diagram looked like the radio, though the location of the fuse in particular looked nothing like what the inside of my radio looks like.

i'll post pics in a bit when i can find batteries for my camera
