GM300 - COR Issue

Post by railtrailbiker »

We're attempting to set up a repeater using 16 channel GM300's and an
external controller (a CAT 1000).

We've done this before twice, but seem to be stumped this time because
we can't get either the receiver radio or link radio to produce the
right voltage swing the controller is looking for in connection with
COR. We've tried 3 radios but none will produce the necessary voltage
swing.

What have we missed? Programming or wiring issue?

The voltage swing is normally 0 to 5 volts on the programmable pins. If this doesn't seem to be enough in your case, try using pin 4 as the COR...it will provide a voltage swing between 0 to 12 volts.

The GM-300 should not need a pull-up resistor. As long as you can set a programable pin as cor or cor+pl it should interface to a cat 1000 no problem. If a pin is not programable or you are using an older maxtrac or something like that, I find that that the audio PA enable voltage makes a OK logic signal for cor+pl.
