anybody else have any thoughts?
Re: MCS2000 Type 2 question
I think the signal strength display only works on conventional models of the MCS2000.

Re: MCS2000 Type 2 question
I wondered if it was part of the phone aspect?
Re: MCS2000 Type 2 question
I work with a fleet of MCS2000's and have NEVER seen it work on conventional or SmartNET/ SmartZONE.
/\/\ uses this model LCD display for a multitude of other radios for other systems like Tetra, IDEN and even the MICOM-2 HF rig. Must be used in some other system.

Re: MCS2000 Type 2 question
I am on a Smartzone System and the signal strength meter works on every MCS2000 I have ever seen in one of our units. I don't remember if it worked or not while we were on a the old Smartnet system.

Re: MCS2000 Type 2 question
well i have it on a SmartZone and its not working so their has to be a feature that has to be turned on to make it work...
Re: MCS2000 Type 2 question
I have conventional model II MCS2000s and trunking (Smartnet) model IIIs. The signal strength works on the conventional model IIs but does nothing on the trunking model IIIs.

Re: MCS2000 Type 2 question
Your radio must be affiliating with the system to have the signal meter operational. ie. you must be a authorized user.
The radio must communicate with the system.

Re: MCS2000 Type 2 question
Weird. I haven't noticed it on my model III in the truck, and it's on a Smartnet system, and it's authorized. It's got 7.something firmware as well, so I'd love to think that isn't the problem...
I've never cared enough to look into it - I thought it was mostly for the iden/nextel stuff.
