Alert Monitor Relay

Post by Two Tone »

I have an older Moto Alert Monitor (one of the silver ones) and I see there is a relay port on the back. Does anyone know the output voltage for this or have any other information on it? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I assume you're looking at the two-prong plug on the rear? If so, this was connected to an internal relay. The contacts closed upon an alarm. Maximum current is 2 amps @117 volts continuous and 5 amps surge. The relay kit was a NLN6633A. IIRC the relay was a square metal can beside the power transformer.

Some Alert Monitor radios had provision for the external relay. It has been a looong time since I worked on them at Motorola.
