Hi All, Can a regular Spectra head# 1073 be made to work on an Astro Spectra? there is a guy around said you can change a chip in the std head and it will work on a Astro.I think he is wrong, but maybe I am.

The U0007 PROM requires the correct PLCC chip programmed for ASTRO W9.

Be very careful if you remove this chip form its PLCC socket. There are delicate PC board traces under this socket that are really easy to damage. An official PLCC removal tool works best, even though the shield makes using it difficult.
