Feeding 6 and 10M mobile antennas from one coax
Hi all, does anyone remember how to run two different mobile antennas from one radio? one antenna is on 29.6 and other is on 52.525 and am interested in doing this without a spliter, I heard that it could be done but with using proper lengths of coax with a "T" connector. I was unable to locate the info.the radio is a syntor-x . any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you. Davie n-3-c-h-u at atlanticbb dot net

I know I have it here somewhere, I spent several minutes looking, but no luck.
It is the Motorola document for using two antennas with that radio.
I am headed out the door in a few minutes on a trip, back on Thurs.
If no one else finds it by then, I will get it for you .
Just out of time right now...

I take it your trying to find an antenna system to use with a Motorola Syntor X9000 on low band. The dual antenna system does work. have had to do it
for several fire department chief cars over the years for 33 and 46 MHz channels.

They sure don't write those things like they used to

I have that article here too. Basically what you want to do is to cut two pieces of coax a quarter-wavelength (or most likely an odd multiple of a quarter-wavelength) at each frequency of interest (remember the velocity factor makes the coax physically shorter than a free-space quarter-wavelength). The coax cut for 29.6 is used inline to the six meter antenna and the coax cut for 52.525 is used inline to the ten meter antenna.
So simple it's scary once you understand what that length of coax looks like at it's cut-for frequency vs. what it looks like anywhere else.
Hope this helps.
