XTS Mic Issue

Post by Bizkitjmd1 »

I am using a Commander mic on my XTS2500. When I first started using the mic it worked fine. Recently when I key the mic I get no outgoing audio, I also do not receive any audio through the mic. The mic does not seem to have any problems working on my XTS5000.

As far as I know, the XTS 2500 never supported the Commander series microphones. I tested one on both of my 2500's, and it does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. No TX/RX/PTT/anything.

Yup, the commander is not supported on the 2500, or any of the lower tier Astro25 portables.

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

Does this count as a Commander mic?

I'm guessing that the "Motorola Commander II RMN5067B" will not work on the XTS 1500?

Here's a handy chart showing RSM compatibility:

No, that is not a commander mic, it's an emergency mic. It only activates emergency trigger from the orange button. You can't reprogram it like you can on a commander.
