XTS5000 FPP and Trunking question

Post by SoCalRescue »

Hi All,
about to purchase a moto 5k with the Flash code: 5A9008-101F87-7 which decodes as:

D12 B1 Q806 ASTRO IMBE Digital Operation
D12 B3 H14 Enhanced Digital ID Display
D11 B2 Q52 Federal Government FPP
D11 B4 Q498 Hardware Multikey Encryption w/ OTAR
D10 B1 H43 Trunked Remote Monitor/Radio Trace
D10 B4 H46 Trunked One Touch Status Message
D7 B4 H38 SmartZone Systems Operation
D6 B1 G857 FDNY Emergency Rx/Tx Tone Set
D4 B1 Q947 APCO Packet Data Interface
D3 B1 Q53 FCC FPP And Radio Cloning
D3 B2 Q387 Conventional Voting Scan
D3 B3 Q173 SmartZone Omnilink MultiZone Operation
D3 B4 Q182 Enhanced Radio Control Protocol
D2 B4 Q361 ASTRO 25 9600 Baud Trunking
D1 B1 Q445 Fireground Accountability Software
D1 B2 Q446 Fireground Voice/Channel Announcement
D1 B3 Q667 ADP Software Encryption

obviously it's a whore, but in this situation, can FPP work? It's supposedly an FPP radio, but trunking is in the flash code too. Does fpp over rule in this situation?

FPP will work since the flash code has both Q52 and Q53 option together but trunking will not work.
In Memory of those that serve.

The two options are not compatible in the codeplug due to how FPP personalities are mapped compared to trunking personalities.

n3obl, just to make sure here... My radio should have no trouble operating with FPP with the flash code I had posted with CPS 15, correct? It has the Q52 and Q53 option. I need to make sure that I can program with the latest CPS and have FPP on my radio with the flash code aforementioned.

Yep, it'll work. Frank was referring to the trunking not working.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

Wavetar, you are saying that with the flashcode I gave you, I should be able to program my radio with CPS 15 and FPP will still be 100% there?

Q52-Q53 will always have priority in functionality over trunking in a whore flashed radio.

So I can program it with ANY version of CPS safely?

It depends on what version of CPS the radio was last programmed with.

The radio you are checking on was last programmed with CPS 15, so you need CPS 15 to program it and it will program fine with CPS 15 and NO, you will not lose FPP.
