800 GTX mobile out of band

Post by MP 6.7 »

How far up will an 800MHz GTX mobile receive without the filters rolling off or the VCO going out of lock? What about MCS2000's? I'm thinking of using one to receive 896MHz but I'm not sure if they'll go that high without hardware mods. Will a jumpered filter do it or is it more involved?

...bump?

I might get a bunch of GTX's for cheap which is why I ask...as cheap and easier to find than conventional 800MHz Maxtracs.

You're asking it to go 30MHz out of it's regular band, so I'm thinking 'no'. Not without hardware mods at the very least. Not sure exactly what would be involved, never tried it.
