Help hooking up GM300 to MC1000

Post by chrisbern71 »

I need some help from someone. I need to know what pins to use from the GM300 and which ports to use on the MC1000.
If anyone has the info or knows where I can get it, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you Chris

Unfortunately for the most part it doesn't go direct to the radio. It needs some sort of interface (kinda like a TNA200) box in between.

Do you know if it is tone or DC?

I talked to someone whom had a single C100 hooked up to a GM300 and they didn't use anything in the middle. The C100 however, must be easier to hook up. Not as many choices as the MC1000. It could be the MC1000 would need something in the middle, I just dont' know. I've been playing with it and the rx works great, the tx sends out a signal, but no audio. If I could figure that one out, I'd have it running. I'm using pin 2, 3, 7, and 11 off the GM300. Does that sound correct?
Thanks

First of all, it must be a "local" remote in order to be able to interface directly to the radio. There should be a label on the underside of the unit to indicate exactly what type of MC1000 it is.

L3211A = local
L3212A = D.C.
L3213A = Tone

Assuming it's a local model, one thing many people miss is the need to ground all the "-" points in the unit..."TX -", "RX -" and also "PTT common". The pins you list for the GM300 are correct, so I believe it's just a matter of doing the grounding & you should be good to go.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.
