Quantar CW ID question

Post by WB5ITT »

Is there a way to force the ID to finish running while the Quantar is in ANALOG mode instead of stopping and starting over?? I have a Quantar on my ham repeater and I hate to have to let the carrier drop and then the ID starts THEN a user keys up and the ID stops and resets to try again...ARGH!!!! Is there anyway to make it work as a normal IDer in analog mode???
Also is there a PL Active output anywhere on the thing to take to an external controller??? I found all the audio, PTT and COS connections to go to my RLC3....but NO PL???

Thanks
Chris

As for the ID, no. What you see is what you get.

Yes there is a PL detect output, though where it is I cannot recall at the moment.

Got any RLC3's for sale?

No RLC3 for sale (yet)...I may be looking at the DSP404 soon...have two RLC3s, one RLC1+ and a RC850...was looking at the RLC CLUB Deluxe to replace the 1+ so the 1+ can go to a new end site....I have the Quantar in flat audio mode and I moded my controllers for that as well..so I can pass DC-4kHz through the audio....have pass Alinco's digital through a RC850 on a GE MVP rptr running flat! THis site I am at now, I have two Quantars sharing one antenna....wasnt easy and the loss is more than I wanted but the 451 xmtr doesnt desense my 449 rcvr and both machines are at 100watts out...ended up with about 3.4db loss system wide both directions....but it works (after tweaking all those notch cavities!! and a motorola dealer said it couldnt be done with a Quantar!! Well, now I know my GE with the GasFet can go there as well...the Quantar is my reserve rptr for my company sites :)=
