MIP 5000 - Anyone Have Trouble Configuring Gateways?

Hi guys, I have a very frustrating problem....

I cant seem to get the gateways to connect to hyperterminal or putty for that matter. When I set the settings and open the program nothing displays and I cant get to the gateway configurations and its driving me nuts. I had to change TFTP servers and all the addresses changed, and now I cant update the gateways. What am I doing wrong?

Are you using a crossover cable or trying to connect via a switch/hub? FB
......I understand what the package says sir, but you cannot talk 28 miles with 3 AA batteries.......
