Interfacing Motorola Quantar to External Controller

Post by 1585hp »

Hey everyone,

I have a Motorola Quantar that I'm wanting to interface an SCOM 7330 external repeater controller to using the MRTI connections.

The QuantarControl Board is a TTN4094B and I am using the following pins on J14 (aka "N") on the backplane:

1 - MRTI Audio (Using for TX Audio)
2 - MRTI PTT (using for external PTT from controller)
7 - MRTI RX Audio (sending this to the external controller as RX Audio)
15 - RX CARRIER (using this as COR and sending to external controller)
16 - Ground (tying to controller ground)

I have tried grounding the PTT pin and cannot get PTT; also I'm not getting any COR indication from the station. I saw a VHF Motorola Quantar last week hooked up to an Arcom RC-210 external controller using these exact pins, so I think I may be missing something in the programming of the Quantar??

Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks,

Did you enable the MRTI in the RSS or CPS? I had to activate it to enable the function in our application for a local voter interface.
