Minitor III Scanning / Alerting

Post by FFMikeM »

Hey guys!

So I'm programming a pager for someone, but their request is quiet complex. Here's what they've requested...

Position A, Night use, 154.175 Mhz, my 2 department pairs detected, audible, alert signal.
Position B, Day use, 154.175 Mhz, my 2 department pairs detected, audible, alert signal plus surrounding departments pairs detected but without alert signals. (2 of the tone sets from Position A plus 2 more,,, the additional 2 he doesn't want an alert sound, just wants it to open)
Position C, Meetings, same as position A except vibrate.
Position D, connected to computer, 154.175 Mhz & 154.415 Mhz, scan, no pair detection or alert signals.

For Position A & B I figure I can use ON/OFF Duty options to seperate them. But is it possible to backdoor a way to get it to just open for the 2 additional tones?

And for Position D is it possible to have it SCAN but NOT alert?

Thanks for all your help as always!

Mike,

To make a long story very short... What you are attempting is not possible.
He needs at least 2, maybe 3 pagers to accomplish what he wants.
The B mode request could not be done at all.

A mode can be tone alert, vibe alert, no alert, but not a mixture of alerts.
The Scan mode selection on a Minitor III is Tone alert and monitor.
If you wanted the pager to not tone activate in the Scan mode, you would not
program the tones for either frequency.

The only way I have been able to make a Minitor III work in the alert mode
and activate to monitor without a Tone or Vibe alert is to program the
mode for Vibe alert and then disconnect one of the leads to the vibe motor.

I think the best you could do for Position B would be to make it a Monitor Mode and
do not program the 2 additional sets of tones.
