Bending the bandsplit

Post by ke4zdg »

Hey folks,

Just got a 151-158 MHz Minitor 3 at a hamfest last weekend to listen to a couple ham repeaters with. I got it working on the WX channel, but can't get it to listen in the ham band lower than 147.25. Is there a low threshold where the sensitivity dies or the VCO unlocks?

Thanks,

Jared

Yep... I bet it's about 147.25 for your unit. They won't slide very far outside their rated bandsplit.

Is there something inside to modify? VCO strip, filter to jump out, steering line to pull down, etc?
