Don't remember any setting in software that would lower audio. Common problem with low audio in Advisor IIs. If it's out of warranty you can replace it with a part from Digi-Key, 102-1460.

Yes, the audio tone is programmable. There are about 5 options for the tone.

Your low tone indicates a bad transducer which can be replaced - free by Motorola if in warranty of by others (us if requested) for a lot less if out of warranty. We also have clean refurbished or new Advisor II's if required.

Ah yes. I remember buying some gear from Leavitt years ago. A very honest seller with hard to find gear.
Analog already is interoperable.

Of the 7 options for the alert tone. 2.7KHZ is the loudest. When programming multiple pagers you could have changed the setting to 3.84, 3.2, 3.0, or even 2.5, 1.37, or 1.24, all of which would cause a lower sounding alert/audio. If you read a pager, and then programmed additional pagers without reading them first, all the options will get changed, including the alert/audio option level. You can find this under the alert tab in the programming software. While the transducers do go bad, low alert/audio is usually caused by having the wrong alert frequency selected. When the transducer usually fails it causes no audio or intermittent audio due to a bad solder contact or one of the transducer contacts break from physical damage. You can usually power on the pager and press the pager between your finger were the transducer is on the decoder board and it will work, on and off....
Definitely check your alert settings before sending it out for repair or changing the transducer.
