05/06 Tacoma headlight polarity

Post by turtlexiv »

Greetings,

The Toyota Tacoma was redesigned starting with the '05 model. I'm aware that the previous models used ground/negative side headlight polarity, does anybody know if this is still the same on the new models? I've done some googling on the subject without much luck.

I searched as well, with the same result. Try the forums at the Tacoma Territory Off Roaders Assn. at http://ttora.com .My guess is you'll get answers there.

Hope that helps.

As a follow-up to this thread for anybody who may need this info in the future, I was able to obtain a copy of the vehicle's electrical system service manual. The headlamp "common wire" is connected to the vehicle's ground, making it a positive switch system. If somebody would like a copy of the manual, e-mail me.

Looks like I need to pick up a new flasher :)
