Post by ScannerDan »

Hi All,

What is the most common OEM or aftermarket GPS mapping software used in police and fire MDC's?

Thanks

Dan..

If a dept is using MDT's in the car, chances are they are using a CAD based mapping system using municpal or commerial based GIS information. Could be as simple as a line map, or one with pictometry and topo information.

Outside of that, I have usually seen Streets/Trips and the Garmin Mobile PC.

Usually CAD mapping, but I've seen DeLorme as well.
