HT 1250 Low or no TX power ??

Post by domgrr »

i got this radio a few months back referbed and i love the radio, however today it
just stopped working sorta. it no longer is tx full power (i think). i am able to talk
direct with other radios but no longer can access the repeaters. i am able to
key the repeater with a noisy signal (listening on another radio ht750) when i
am looking right at the tower on one of the hill tops. i re programmed the radio
with the saved code plug on the computer thinking something when wrong but no
luck still the same problem. do you have any ideas of what can be wrong?
thanks

Get out the handy dandy RF adaptor and verify the TX power.
The P.A is a bear to replace due to requiring hot air tools.
RX on the 1250s are not as good either, even when the RSSI is set properly.

Driver problems are rare, look to the P.A and check the RF current on TX @ high power.
