Cloning Cable Substitute?

Post by nobars »

I have multiple BPR40 radios and I have had no luck finding a cloning cable but from the pictures I see it looks like a simple 2.5mm male-male headphone-looking cable with 2 isolators on each metal end so if i were able to find a cable like that at radio shack then would it work the same?

you would first have to verify the schematic of this cloning cable you speak of against the 2.5 mm M2M cable from rat shack.

NO a pin to pin directly will not work. The original cable the ground connection is common but the center pin called the Tip goes to the Ring of the second connector and vice versa so if you measure the 2.5 cloning cable Ring will go to Tip, and the Tip will go to the Ring on the other connector and ground to ground. Now you have a Clone Cable! WB4IVG Laurin
