MTR2000 programming cable pin out wrong

Post by vader1701 »

The pin out that is on this site is not correct, it doesn't work, I have tried another version and it doesn't work either, has there been any changes? Motorola loves to change things. There is no information on the RJ45 to give pin out information either the DB9 is pretty straight forward.

What radios do you own?: Not enough apparently!

No changes. I've been able to program many MTR2000s with a home made programming cable using the diagram from the main site. Are you sure you crimped it properly? There could be a computer problem too.

The pinout of the programming cable for the MTR-2000 repeater should be as follows:

Computer RPTR
DB9 RJ-45
2 --------------- 3
3 --------------- 2
5 --------------- 4

With the flexible locking tab away, and the cable exit hole to the left, pin 1 is on the bottom.
