ht 1000 issue... is it a brick now?

Post by ffemt1764 »

ok so I programmed my ht1000 yesterday and it worked fine. I read it today and it gives me and invalid model/ serial number error. I load my saved codeplug and attempt to load it into the radio and I get a software mismatch error. any ideas?

Well I guess by the underwhelming response I have gotten so far, this radio may well be a paper weight...if I'm wrong please tel me what to do to fix this. I used the exact same computer and RSS version both times...

Mike, HT1000 programming problems and errors have been covered here ad nauseum. That's why you probably haven't received a timely response. I would suggest that you check the obvious: PC booted to DOS, clean the accessory contacts on your HT and the contacts on the programming cable, if RIB is battery powered check battery, etc. Try doing a search here on HT1000 errors if you haven't already.
If your HT still powers up normally, it's unlikely that you've done any damage to it.

Ok, problem has been resolved. Apparently the radio thought it was a low band model, but some time messing with the radio and reading it with the rss resolved it.

Ht1000...I know there's no such creature as a low band version, but for some reason the radio radio thoughtotherwise for a while. I'm just glad it's fixed lol.
