Ok, I've got a bn factory 2500III VHF with the Q53 option. I have the "FPP" added to the menu. So, why does it not show up after I write the radio in the menu so that I can prg from the keyboard like my 5000? Using CPS12.

Re: XTS2500 FPP W/Q53 How
Just Q53 requires the "dongle" on the side of the radio.
If by chance it is Q52 only, CPS 12 would have messed it up.

If it only has Q53 in the flash without Q52 also, then FPP will not show up in the menu after the radio is programmed without the programming key... If it's got both Q52 & Q53 in the flash, then FPP should be in your menu options...

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..
CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

That all makes sense. The local /\/\ shop said we'd just need the Q53 option. Not a problem, I'll get it back to them and get the dongle or the Q52 option added. Thanks everyone!
