ht1250 on 440
ht 1250 can it be changed from 450-527 to 440-527 if so how i have look this board over please email me how to do it. (email address redacted - tvsjr)
Re: ht1250 on 440
The purpose of this board is the SHARING of information, not asking someone to email it to you. If everyone asked for the answer to be emailed to them, there'd be no content here.
Furthermore, If you had searched first, you'd find quite a bit of discussion on this topic.

Yeah, that's another thing about this board that sucks, a lot of people "know how", but are unwilling to share. They may be willing to e-mail it with the comment "don't share this with anyone else", but never publicly. Why? I don't know, it never used to be so secretive.KB8TGK wrote:i have look but have not found a answer alot of it can be done but not how.
Personally, I was able to use the labtool on my 450-520 HT1250 and put a 403-470 codeplug in it. Now, it doesn't do over 470 anymore, but it does do 440 nicely. It even works down in the 420s, but RX sensitivity dies off, but not too bad for the LTR systems I sometimes monitor.
Re: ht1250 on 440
It's not a secret, it's the commerce.I don't know, it never used to be so secretive.
Here is my theory. I don't check it. Who really needs - go on.
All numbers in example referenced to LabCodeplug M25RKA9AA0A 403-470
(it is NOT CPScodeplug, it is codeplug from LabTool in binary format
or RawCodeplug from EEPROM IC in radio).
The frequency limits exists in application codeplug as offsets from /\/\ base frequency.
/\/\ base frequency at R-split = 375.000 MHz.
The low limit: 403.000-375.000=28000, 28000/5=5600, 5600(d)=15E0(h).
You can find 15E0 in codeplug at offset 2AF(h).
The upper limit: 470.000-375.000=95000, 95000/5=19000, 19000(d)=4A38(h).
You can find 4A38 in codeplug at offset 2B1(h).
After you edit any limit you must recalculate checksum for this block.
For Waris_MDC CheckSum-8 for block from offset 280(h) to offset 2D7(h) = DA.
Byte at offset 2D7(h) is checksum equaliser.
But CPS is another story. I don't know how CPS accept this codeplug.

The turning "on and off" thing you mention, if it was the LED and backlights illuminating then going off and on until the battery was removed, sounds like the codeplug you tried to use needed more ROM space than was provided, similar to when my friend tried cramming the HT1550 codeplug into his HT1250, because that's what he got.
I was able to upgrade the firmware, but that didn't fix the codeplug issue. If the flash failed, however, the only fix I've gotten to work is with another radio of the same model and bandsplit. You use it in the firmware upgrade software to get through the first screen to the "put radio in bootstrap mode before continuing" screen. The radio, while looking dormant, is in bootstrap mode already, the upgrade tool just can't communicate with it initially to determine any information from it.
What platform are you using to program anyhow? You never mentioned if it was factory cables and RIB, RIB-less, the operating system, true serial port or a PCMCIA type adapter....
The radio may be a paperweight now, something didn't go right.

Re: ht1250 on 440
Your frist problem is using AFTERMARKET cables.KB8TGK wrote: xp home and ver 6.04.00 software and a aftermarket ribless cable on a true serial port.
Aftermerket cables are good in some applications but not really in this one. Look as it may have caused you a trip to the post office and about $250. And since you will send it to DEPOT for service just have them change the bandsplit for you.
Re: ht1250 on 440
The Depot isn't going to change the bandsplit of the radio just because you ask them to...jwb8734 wrote:And since you will send it to DEPOT for service just have them change the bandsplit for you.
Re: ht1250 on 440
I caused this trying to upload the wrong codeplug and i will be happy to get it back like it was but as for depot repait i only have about $90 in it so it will make a good door stop if i cant get it back working.I thought this board was to help with problems not to point fingers at what some one does wrong i admit what i did wrong now i just need some one to help me fix it.jwb8734 wrote:Your frist problem is using AFTERMARKET cables.KB8TGK wrote: xp home and ver 6.04.00 software and a aftermarket ribless cable on a true serial port.

It should be in the codeplug folder, but I think your TANAPA is off.KB8TGK wrote:can some one send me a flash for a pume1479aa model aah25sdf9aa5an i think this will fix my ht1250.

Re: ht1250 on 440
I have offered help, but it seems apparent at this point that sending it to the depot is the only option unless someone else has a tool I don't.
Re: ht1250 on 440
Send it to me. I will beat on it with some "tools" and let you know what I find. You pay shipping both ways. I can contact you from my "work" address in the morning. FatBoy
