Motorola XTS5000 transmit tone

Post by 4-crime »

Hi everyone. I was wondering if someone knew how to stop my radio from putting out a tone on the speaker of the radio every time I hit the transmit button. It is a short tone when the pttt is pressed. When I go into the cps and check the alert tones section i don't see an option for turning it off. I even made sure that I put the same settings on this radio that i have on another XTS5000. Am i missing something in the CPS. When I turn off all alert tones I don't hear it.

Check under secure to see if you have Clear TX Alert Tone enabled. Check your signalling systems (primarily MDC) to see if you have any sidetones enabled.

Thanks for the help. It was the secure TX clear alert tone that was checked.
