Spectra 12w radio w/30w PA Mod?

Post by creeperjeep »

Hi,
I have a elderly limited option (no PL,DIR,etc) spectra with a 30w pa, It also has junk receive audio (replaced the caps and no help).
Do you think I could get a newer more optioned spectra with a 12w pa and swap my 30w pa onto it?
Any potential hangups? or straight forward

It's fairly straight forward. Be sure to write down the tuning info in relation to power output and current limiting for both radios, since these differ from PA to PA. I can't remember exactly what the current limiting setting is called in the RSS, but I do remember it is a 0-15 step setting.

Good luck.
