New CPS & F/W for XPR6550, & XPR4550

Post by N4KVE »

I have a XPR6550, & XPR4550 both with F/W 1.09.00. They program with CPS 7.6. I understand there is new F/W 1.09.10 [& possibly even newer] & new CPS 8.0. If I buy a new radio, & it comes with F/W 1.09.10 will I have to use the newest CPS, or would the CPS 7.6 work with the newest F/W? GARY

I would think a brand new radio would come from Motorola written with the current (i.e. V8.0) CPS, meaning you would need the same to read/write regardless of the firmware version, unless you purchased one that's been sitting on a dealer's shelf for a while that is?

Let me rephrase my question. If I have my radios upgraded from 1.09.00 to 1.09.10 could I still use my CPS 7.6? GARY

7.6 will work with 1.09.10 - no worries.

Yes, 7.6 & 1.09.10 will play together just fine.
