XPR8400 IP Remote Programming Error #5446

Post by tdilab »

Hi everyone,
I wonder if anyone encountered and possibly resolved the following error.
Here is the setup :
On remote location – XPR8400 Firmware Ver 1.08.00, IP Connected using a router having incoming TCP & UPD Ports 50000 redirected to the repeater’ IP address.
Local location - CPS Ver 7.6 Build 384 including the “IP Remote Programming Key” installed.
- Connecting the remote device (Remote -> Connect) will establish the link with the proper Radio ID.
- Reading the device will yield the error “#5446”
- However, RDAC V4 works fine !
Any suggestion or error code description will be greatly appreciated.

I've had errors when trying to use a newer CPS version with an older firmware before. You may need to update the repeater firmware. CPS v7.6 was meant for firmware 1.09.0. The latest repeater firmware for the 8400 is 1.09.11 and the latest CPS is 8.5

Re: XPR8400 IP Remote Programming Error #5446 - Fixed

Hi,
I fixed this issue by adding a "port triggering" on the Client' side End.
Router is a DDWRT based, so the setup looks like this :
- Triggered Port Range
Start 50000 - End 50000
- Forwarded Port Range
Start 50000 - End 50000
- Protocole TCP & UDP
Hope this helps,

Odd, port forwarding is all you should have needed. Port 'triggering' is supposed to redirect traffic depending upon what machine sent data out that port range. So if another IP device sends traffic out port 50000 besides your repeater the traffic will be redirected to that device instead of your repeater. DDWRT may handle that differently though ...

Hi,
We have port forwarding on the remote end where the Xpr8400 is attached to.
We have port triggering on the local router where the box running the CPS is attached to.
My 2 cents for what it is worth - hope that can help someone.

You wouldn't happen to have had MIP5000 console software installed on your computer by chance? The DCPM service, which runs automatically when Windows starts, will prevent the Mototrbo CPS from reading a repeater over IP even though it will allow you to connect to it. Motorola is aware of this.
