Mototrbo Repeater Analog Audio Cut Problem

Post by moztas »

Hi all,

If anybody experience that when you are listening a call over Mototrbo repeater the audio cuts out for a 200-300ms in analog mode even signal is not poor. I've tested in mixed mode and also just analog mode, same. It seems like CTCSS decoding is the problem but not sure. Tested with different analog (Vertex and Spectra Engineering) repeaters and no problem with them. It means that problem is not and interference issue at the repeater site.

Repeater: DR3000 50Watts VHF
Freq: Tx: 145.675 Rx:145.075 PL:88.5
Bandwidth: 25 KHz for both repeater and portables

Any idea please?

Only thing similar I have run across is if you have a Trbo radio nearby that is in 'Site Connect' roaming mode and trying to wakeup repeaters in it's channel pool. When it transmits it will possibly desense nearby radios for about that same amount of time.

Does this sound like an audio 'stutter' a few seconds after the transmission starts? If you look at a waveform, does the audio from the RX side but not the re-generated PL go away? Almost like the RX module had an issue?
