XPR6550 and Non Impres Batteries

Post by MTS2000 »

Hello all,

Was just curious if the XPR6550's or any of them that display a battery gauge will display them when using non-Impres batteries? Or do they need Impres batteries to display the battery gauge like on Astro25 radio's?

Thanks

I do not have a non-impress battery to test with, but I was able to cover the smaller of the 3 pins on the battery on mine, this is causing the radio to report a Non-Impress battery when I try to view the radio information. It is still displaying a battery gauge on the main screen, but I noticed it is a bar lower than what it is displaying when I have the other pin un-covered.

So, I would suspect a non-impress battery would have the basic battery gauge on the screen, but I can't test that for sure.
