XPR8300 Transceiver

Post by johnny1225 »

I recently got in a XPR8300 UHF Repeater that had a bad transceiver. I ordered part # PMTE4013A from Motorola. I have installed the new transceiver. Once installed it said that i needed to go to the tuner to put in the new serial number. After doing so the repeater will stay on for about 10 seconds then the red disable light come on and it resets itself every 10 sec or so. Is there something i am doing wrong, is there something i missed?? Please help??

Thanks

John

It might be as follows: Disconnect the TX and RX modules from the control board. Read each radio module and make sure they are both programmed for ANALOG or DIGITAL, not one on each. This kicked my butt the first time it happened after swapping out a transceiver.............. FB.
......I understand what the package says sir, but you cannot talk 28 miles with 3 AA batteries.......
